Paramedic in Zimbabwe during COVID-19

A shortage in Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) finds paramedics in Zimbabwe unable to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic
Ras is a 35-year-old trans man who has been working as a paramedic in Victoria Falls Zimbabwe for 6 years. He didn’t think much of COVID-19 when he first heard of it, but when he couldn’t return to work because of a shortage of gloves, gowns, and masks, he knew that this pandemic was more serious than he thought.

FACTS & DEFINITIONS:

PPE (PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT): PPE refers to devices or equipment designed to be worn by an individual for protection against one or more health and safety hazards. There is a shortage of PPE for the health personnel around the world who need it most, so make sure that you use this equipment only when needed.
